Kingston and other companies are about to release a new generation of DDR5 products in batches

Feb 02 70
Memory companies including Kingston, ADATA, Apacer and Team Group all plan to launch their next-generation DDR5 memory products in the second half of 2021.

According to the "Electronic Times" report, Kingston has provided motherboard manufacturers with samples of its DDR5 modules for testing and verification, and plans to launch the product line in the fourth quarter of this year. With the launch of the product, Kingston will also launch a new series of games.

ADATA, headquartered in Taiwan, China, said that its XPG gaming brand is also preparing to launch its DDR5 overclocking memory in the third quarter of 2021. The speed of the new DDR5 series memory modules will be between 6000MHz and 7400MHz, which is higher than JEDEC's native speed of 4800MHz.

For Apacer, its DDR5 game module runs at 6400mhz. Team Group has already provided engineering samples of its DDR5 products and is conducting product verification with major motherboard manufacturers.

According to industry sources, motherboard manufacturers have already started the verification of DDR5 products in advance, and are striving to become the first manufacturers to provide solutions based on Intel and AMD's next-generation PC processors.

According to JEDEC, DDR5 will provide twice the bandwidth and density of DDR4, as well as better channel efficiency. These performance enhancements, coupled with a more user-friendly interface on the server and client platforms, will enable high performance and improved power management in various applications.
