Towersemi sent a letter to Prime Minister Indian: Approval of the Construction Wafer Factory as soon as possible

Feb 02 76
Recently, Simulated Semiconductor Substitute Tower Semiconductor sent a letter to Prime Minister of India, seeking the latter intervention, accelerating approval chip manufacturing proposals. Nine months ago, this Israeli company submitted an intent of the Welcome Factory (EOI) to the Indian government.

According to ETTELECOM, Tower Semiconductor said that the Indian government's delay will mean that the company cannot actively participate in this project in the future.

In April 2020, the Indian Electronics and Information Technology issued the "Electronic Parts and Semiconductor Manufacturing Plan (SPECS", as part of the plan, the Indian government announced incentive measures to establish a wafer factory in December. According to EOI, the Indian government will provide 25% of financial incentives for companies in India's investment semiconductor.

Although the EOI application deadline has been extended twice, India currently only receives the application of top company, including Next Orbit Ventures from Abu Dhabi (Emirates).

The Tower Semiconductor is a Technical Partner of NEXT Orbit Ventures, which hopes to build a total investment of $ 3 billion in 65nm simulated semiconductor plant in Dora, India's industrial center Dora (DHOLERA).

Although this project has got a discussion of G2G (government government) level, it is still "disappointing and frustrating" because the Indian government did not give a clear time course, and there is no promise.

Tower Semiconductor said in the letter, "We ask you to immediately clarify and transmit restrictions on the Indian government and its stakeholders, otherwise we must say that we cannot continue to actively participate in this project in the near future."

Ajay Jalan, a joint founder and director of NEXT Orbit Ventures, also said that from 2017 to the current EOI approval, the company has been urged all major government agencies in India to make decisions.

He said that annual approval delays not only increase the cost of project, but also increased the vulnerability of national security and competitiveness in India. He said that Delhi's Next Orbit team will reappear a similar requirement this week, because the current EOI intentbook has spent 9 months, if another proposal request (RFP) will take 9 months, the project will put off.
