On May 19, according to the Taiwanese media "Economic Daily", TSMC Singapore itself has an SSMC fab. Recently, it was reported that Singapore officials intend to invite TSMC to build a local semiconductor factory. In this regard, TSMC briefly pointed out this evening, "We do not Any possibility is ruled out, but TSMC currently does not have any concrete plans."

According to reports, TSMC's Singapore SSMC fab broke ground as early as 2000 and started production in 2001. The plant is jointly invested by TSMC, Philips Semiconductors Co., Ltd. and the Singapore Economic Development and Investment Authority in Singapore.

According to TSMC's press release at the time, the factory's initial production process was dominated by 0.25-micron and 0.18-micron processes, and by 2002, 0.15-micron and 0.12-micron processes will be introduced successively. The fab has a monthly capacity of 30,000 eight-inch wafers at full capacity.

SSMC's metal oxide semiconductor logic (CMOS-Logic) chip products can be used in a variety of fields, including telecommunications, multimedia, consumer digital electronics, networking and information technology.
