Infineon's third factory project in Kulim, Malaysia held a groundbreaking ceremony a few days ago. The project has a total investment of more than RM8 billion and will be used for the manufacture of third-generation semiconductor silicon carbide and gallium nitride products. It is expected to be completed and put into production in the third quarter of 2024. .
Infineon Chief Operating Officer Rutger Wijburg, who attended the ceremony, said that the company's previous wafer manufacturing base in the Kulim area has formed an advantage of scale. After the third factory is put into production, it will contribute 2 billion euros in new output value, which will also enable Infineon. Ling is better able to meet the growing demand for power semiconductors.
