According to the Economic Daily report, UMC has made great progress in the layout of vehicles. Recently, it has won new certifications from major automotive chip manufacturers such as Deyi and Infineon. The eight key areas of automotive certification have been obtained. .

The supply chain pointed out that UMC has obtained large orders from major automotive chip manufacturers such as Infineon, NXP, and Texas Instruments. These customers account for more than 30% of the global automotive chip market. Recently, they are also striving for 22nm-related automotive certification. Attack the automotive market. Since the reliability of automotive chips is more than 15 years, coupled with the requirement of zero defects, UMC has obtained new certifications from many major manufacturers, highlighting its technological competitiveness.

It is understood that UMC has won eight key certifications in the field of automotive chips, covering power semiconductors, wireless communication applications such as WiFi/Bluetooth, millimeter-wave radar sensors (Radar sensor), Auto AP, microcontroller (MCU), CIS sensor, OLED /LCD driver ICs, microcomputer electrical sensors, etc., almost all the necessary certifications for automotive chips have been obtained.

In addition, at the time when UMC has made significant achievements in the layout of automobiles, the third-generation semiconductor business has also reported good news. The third-generation semiconductor business of Lian Ying Optoelectronics has benefited from the booming demand for 5G, automotive and other applications, and has continued in the second quarter of this year. Profitable in five quarters and growing quarter by quarter, the first half of the year even more profitable than the whole of last year.

According to the financial report released by UMC, the company’s revenue in July was NT$24.827 billion (units are the same below), an annual increase of 35.18%, and it has set a new revenue record for ten consecutive months. UMC's consolidated revenue in the first seven months of this year was 160.305 billion yuan, an annual increase of 37.75%.
