According to the Taiwan media Economic Daily, due to the decline in the production efficiency of Foxconn's iPhone 14 Pro series, Apple requested PEGATRON to join the production. This is also the first time PEGATRON has won the OEM order for Apple's high-end models. A large number of shipments began in January this year.
The Taiwan Media Industry and Commerce Times reported in December last year that PEGATRON Shanghai Factory offered a rare high bonus of more than 6000 yuan to recruit employees in order to undertake the order of the iPhone 14 Pro produced in mass production next year.
It is reported in the industry that PEGATRON unexpectedly obtained a transfer order after Hon Hai's Zhengzhou factory incident. PEGATRON's Shanghai Changshuo iPhone 14 Pro, which was assembled by PEGATRON, was further scaled up in January this year, encouraging PEGATRON's consolidated revenue to hit NT $124.609 billion in January, with a monthly increase of 10.5%, a record high over the same period of the previous year. Industry insiders revealed that PEGATRON successfully helped Apple catch up with the iPhone 14 Pro, and also gave Apple, which intends to diversify the production risk of high-end models, the opportunity to hand over some orders for high-end models of the iPhone 15 series to PEGATRON this year.
PEGATRON declined to comment on relevant rumors. However, PEGATRON expects that this year's overall performance will be flat or slightly increased.
It is reported that Apple launched the new iPhone 14 series in the second half of 2022. Hon Hai was originally responsible for the OEM orders of high-end models such as Pro and Pro Max, while PEGATRON was mainly responsible for the iPhone 14 Plus and some iPhone14. Due to the outbreak of the Zhengzhou factory incident in Hon Hai, Apple transferred about 5% to 10% of the orders for high-end models to Lexus Precision and PEGATRON, in which PEGATRON is responsible for the iPhone 14 Pro and Lexus Precision assembling the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
PEGATRON won the large order of iPhone14 Pro assembly and shipped a large quantity in January
