Intel sells the previous generation of processors, with a maximum price reduction of 20%

According to Digitimes, Intel is negotiating with some PC suppliers and is expected to reduce the price of the 12th generation of Alder Lake processors by up to 20%.

Intel's 13th generation of Alder Lake K series and non-K series desktop processors have been sold, while the 12th generation of Alder Lake models are also on sale. Among the price reduction products, the price reduction of the previous generation i9 processor was the largest, with a price difference of up to 70~80 dollars, or about 20%; Next is the price reduction of $40-50 for i7 processors. Taking the mainstream i5 model as an example, the price of i5-12400F sold by JD.com is 1189 yuan; The latest 13-generation Alder Lake model is priced at 1599 yuan from JD.

In fact, at the end of 2022, HP, ACER and other PC manufacturers revealed that the inventory clearing was nearing the end. But now, ACER said that PC has been saturated, and the resources invested by the industry before should be more than, and the PC industry has reached the process of active transformation. The market is saturated and still needs time to digest, so this does not mean that replenishment momentum will emerge.

Su Zifeng, CEO of AMD, also revealed at the financial report meeting today: "We really believe that the first quarter is the bottom of our PC market."

PC shipments have fallen sharply. Gartner, a research company, said that the shipment of personal computers in the last quarter of last year fell by 28.5%, the largest decline since the company began tracking the market in the 1990s.
