1.75 billion euros! The EU subsidizes the development of microelectronics technology in Britain, France, Germany and Italy

  In June 2014, the European Commission adopted the European Common Interests (IPCEI) to encourage Member States to support projects that have made significant contributions to economic growth, employment and European competitiveness.

According to the latest news, the EU has approved the comprehensive financing project of microelectronics research and innovation proposed by France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom to provide 1.75 billion euros of public funding. It is the first batch of IPCEI projects since its establishment.

The microelectronics research and innovation comprehensive project proposed by France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom covers five levels, namely energy-saving chips, power semiconductors, sensors, advanced optical equipment, and conforming materials. The direct participants come from 29 companies in 4 member states, each of which can receive a total of approximately 1.75 billion euros from the national authorities.
