Artificial intelligence (AI) is popular, but the implementation of related algorithms or models requires a lot of computing power. Therefore, for the semiconductor industry, AI certainly contains huge business opportunities, but it also brings many challenges. As Moore's Law lapses and chipmakers no longer rely on circuit miniaturization to achieve higher-performance, lower-cost chips, the challenges of AI computing requirements are even more daunting. In order to respond to the challenges brought by these AIs, in the industrial ecology, the semiconductor industry's style will transform from a linear chain with a clear relationship between upstream and downstream to an intertwined industrial network. On the technical side, New strategies must be proposed in the five areas of computing architecture, design structure, materials, micro-methods and advanced packaging, and material engineering will play a central role in this.
AI business opportunities and challenges coexist, semiconductor materials breakthrough will become the focus
