Arm president: attaches importance to the relationship with Huawei and Hess, is evaluating various feasible solutions

According to Caixin.com, since Huawei was included in the list of entities by the US government, the executives of the British chip architecture enterprise arm spoke for the first time, saying that they attach great importance to the relationship with Huawei and HiSilicon, and are evaluating various feasible solutions.

“We are evaluating various feasible solutions and actively communicating with national policy makers, arm joint ventures in China, Hess, etc., and hope that this matter can be resolved as soon as possible.” Arm President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Graham Budd said so.

Earlier, on June 5th, arm founder Hermann Hauser claimed that the suspension of cooperation with Huawei would cause “incredible damage” to the arm.

After President Trump listed Huawei as a "banned entity" in the United States, Cambridge-based chip design company arm was forced to suspend business with Huawei.

Arm's chips are used in Huawei's smartphones and data center servers. In 2016, arm was acquired by Japanese investment giant Softbank for £24 billion, the largest deal ever for a British technology company.

Because some of the components used in the arm chip were designed in the United States, the arm was also affected by the new ban.
