Haisi announced the sale of 4G chip Balong 711,which is seen by industry insiders.

Feb 02 62
Recently, Shanghai Haisi announced the launch of the first Huawei Hisilicon LTE Cat4 platform Balong 711 to the Internet of Things industry. Since its release in 2014, this chip has been shipping a large number of shipping applications, supporting LTE-FDD/LTE-TDD/WCDMA/GSM multi-mode, providing high-speed, reliable network connectivity solutions for customers in the IoT industry.

It is reported that Balong 711 chip is one of the earliest developed 4G Modem chips, and has completed the certification of more than 100 mainstream operators worldwide. With the global certification of the Balong 711 chip, strong network compatibility, and with its stable network performance, partners can quickly open up the global market. The Balong 711 sets include three chips, the baseband chip Hi2152, the radio frequency chip Hi6361, and the power management chip Hi6559. The platform has been widely used in various industries, with a cumulative global shipment of about 100 million sets. With its superior performance, the products based on Shanghai Haisi Balong 711 chip platform have been fully recognized and trusted by customers in the global IoT industry.

Shanghai HiSilicon is actively developing and cooperating with the industry's leading partners. With its rich experience in design and development, it has quickly launched a complete solution to shorten the time-to-market for customers. At present, a variety of Open CPU solutions are introduced, covering asset tracking, shared bicycle, POS card, etc. At the same time, the module has rich hardware interfaces, supports Gigabit LAN, multi-channel UART, SDIO, PCM, PCIe and other interfaces, and is flexible. It is used in traditional and new fields such as industrial routing, car networking, new retail, and shared economy.

Shanghai HiSili Balong series chips have a complete product queue, from 4G to 5G to meet different application needs of customers. Last month, Shanghai Haisi and AVS Industry Alliance, Danghong Technology, Guangdong Super HD Video Innovation Center and Pengcheng Lab jointly released the first 8K end-to-end solution based on AVS3 standard, and launched the world's first based The AVS3 standard supports Hi3796CV300, an ultra-high-definition chip with 8K resolution and 120fps. Based on Shanghai HiSili's rich business chip platform, 4G Balong 711 can be used with video, TV, AI, WiFi and other chips to provide different solutions such as 4G+video/4G+AI/4G+TV/4G+WiFi to meet the needs of the scene. To provide customers with differentiated advantages and lower overall costs.

The news of the public release of Balong 711 on the Huawei HiS LTE Cat4 platform has sparked heated discussions. However, it seems a bit of a fuss in the industry.

Industry insiders say that Huawei HiSili has been selling chips including communication chips to the open market, but sales are not ideal.

According to industry insiders, when the staff of Hisilicon learned that the baseband's backward Balong 711 chip was sold out by the media, it was surprised.

There are two places behind Balong 711: the baseband only supports Cat4 (Huawei's main product has been upgraded to the Hysei band of Cat6) and does not support CDMA.

As for the purpose of Haisi's external sales of communication chips, the industry believes that there are four:

1. IoT-networked devices can use this baseband for long-distance communication.

2. To show the attitude of Huawei to the outside world, Huawei Terminal and Hess are willing to establish a smart world connected with all kinds of technology companies in the world.

3. Huawei's marketing needs, as mentioned earlier, Haisi is not aware of the sale of this baseband. Mainly the planning of the terminal, like the last GPU Turbo, Haisi development is also a face, I don't know what happened.

4. Test the water. The news has already been released, and Huawei’s gesture has already been put out. It depends on who bought it.
