According to reports, Yonhap said in its Japanese electronic version that Japan’s export control of semiconductors and panel advanced materials for South Korea did not have much impact on the production of Korean companies.
On the radio program that was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Resources of Korea, Cheng Yunmo said that Japan will export fluorinated polythionimide, photoresist, high-purity hydrogen fluoride and semiconductors to Korea in early July 2019. Advanced raw materials have been regulated, and the export license for liquid hydrogen fluoride has not been passed, but good alternative materials have been ensured. This export control has not had much impact on the production of Korean companies.
In response to Japan’s export controls, South Korea has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO), and Japan and South Korea will also conduct a second coordination on November 19. Cheng Yunmo said: "Although Japan is not expected to make a big change in its position, it will continue to make proposals for continued dialogue."
