Samsung claims that it has verified the possibility of commercialization of self-luminous QLED.

QLED (quantum dot light emitting diode) is a technology that uses 2-10 nanometer quantum dots in self-emitting devices. Unlike OLEDs using organic materials, QLEDs do not have the inherent defects of screen burning, so some people think that they will completely replace OLEDs in the future.

This research by Samsung Electronics has improved the luminous efficiency to 21.4%, and the service life of the diode has increased to 1 million hours, the highest level in the world.

At present, the QLED TV Samsung is producing is a liquid crystal TV with a QD backlight film. For mass production of a QLED display, it is necessary to further improve the quantum dot luminous efficiency and service life.
