According to the Financial Associated Press, at the mid-term performance exchange meeting this morning, TCL Technology Chairman Li Dongsheng revealed that the 8.5-generation printed OLED production line in Guangzhou will start within next year, and normally the production line will be lit in 18 months. TCL also said that the production line is expected to become the world's first mass-produced 8.5-generation printed OLED production line.

Printing technology is considered to be an effective way to solve the high cost of OLED and produce large-size panels. And TCL has been focusing on the field of printed OLED, trying to compete with Samsung and LG in the large-size panel market. Earlier, TCL CSOT signed an investment agreement with Japan's JOLED to invest 30 billion yen (approximately 2 billion yuan) in the latter to develop in-depth technical cooperation in the field of inkjet printing OLED.
