Feb 02 65
According to Reuters, on today (30), American chip manufacturer Micron Technology stated that the company had stopped shipping to Huawei on September 14 and the company has not yet obtained the new license required to sell its memory chips to Huawei. .

Micron said that the United States began to impose restrictions on chip sales last year. It has previously obtained a license from the U.S. government to sell chips for mobile phones and servers produced by its factories outside the United States to Huawei. However, a new round of restrictions came into effect on September 15, prohibiting the sale of any chips produced using US tools or software. Therefore, Micron’s early license has been invalidated and sales ceased on September 14.

Micron Chief Commercial Officer Sumit Sadana (Sumit Sadana) mentioned in an interview with Reuters: "The company uses fab manufacturing equipment mainly from US companies." These include Applied Materials and Lam Research.

Sadana said that Micron has applied for a new license from the US government to sell to Huawei, but it has not yet been approved, and it is not known whether or when it will be approved.

Sadana said: "Once the license is obtained, we will continue to work with Huawei to determine how to resume business."
