Not only did Apple’s first computer chip M1 officially come out, MediaTek also launched its new Dimensity series 5G SoC Dimensity 700 and its application in the next generation of Chromebooks. MT8192 and MT8195 chipsets.

5G chip family adds Dimensity 700

MediaTek official sources show that Dimensity 700 adopts 7nm process and supports advanced 5G technology, including 5G dual carrier aggregation (2CC 5G-CA) and 5G dual card dual standby (DSDS), as well as faster and clear 5G VoNR voice services. Dimensity 700 uses an eight-core CPU architecture, including two large-core Arm Cortex-A76, with a main frequency of up to 2.2GHz.

In addition, Dimensity 700 also adopts MediaTek 5G UltraSave power-saving technology, which can effectively reduce the power consumption of 5G communication, thereby improving the battery life of the terminal; it supports 90Hz screen refresh rate; it supports up to 64 million pixel camera and night shooting enhancement functions; multiple compatibility A variety of voice assistants, including Alibaba, Amazon, Baidu, Google, Tencent, etc.

MediaTek said that Dimensity 700 aims to bring advanced 5G features and experiences to the mass market. So far, MediaTek Dimensity series 5G chips have launched a variety of products including Dimensity 700, Dimensity 720, Dimensity 800, Dimensity 800U, Dimensity 820, Dimensity 1000, etc., covering flagship, high-end, mid-range and the public Market and other fields.

It is worth mentioning that MediaTek has announced that it will launch a 5G SoC with a 6nm process technology. It is understood that this chip model is MT689X, using ARM Cortex-A78 core design, the highest frequency can reach 3.0GHz, is expected to be released before the end of this year.

Launched MT8192 and MT8195 chipsets

While releasing Dimensity 700, MediaTek also announced the launch of MT8192 and MT8195 chipsets for next-generation Chromebooks.

Among them, MT8195 is based on TSMC’s 6nm process and integrates an eight-core CPU, including four Arm Cortex-A78 and four energy-efficient Arm Cortex-A55 for computationally intensive applications; integrated MediaTek APU 3.0, which can provide up to 4 TOPs of performance ; Five-core Arm-Mali G57 GPU, which can provide excellent visual effects; adopts four-channel 2133MHz LPDDR4X; supports up to three displays at the same time.

MT8192 is based on the 7nm process and also integrates an eight-core CPU, including four Arm Cortex-A76 cores and four Arm Cortex-A55; integrated MediaTek APU 2.0, providing the highest performance up to 2.4 TOPs; equipped with five-core Arm-G57 GPU, with 2133MHz LPDDR4x and UFS 2.1 storage; support widescreen quad high-definition (WQHD) display with standard 60Hz refresh rate, or FullHD+ display with refresh rate up to 120Hz.

MediaTek said that Chromebooks equipped with MT8192 will be available in the second quarter of 2021. The MT8195 will power high-end Chromebooks, smart displays, tablets and other smart devices, and these products will also be available at a later date.

Revenue this year will reach tens of billions of dollars

It can be seen that MediaTek is constantly enriching and upgrading its product lineup, deepening the layout of 5G platform solutions and Chromebook chip platform, and continuing to make efforts in smart home, Internet of Things and other fields. Under the diversified product portfolio, what is MediaTek’s performance? Variety?
