According to the Central News Agency, according to statistics from the International Institute of Obstetrics and Gastronomy of the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan, the total output value of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan last year reached 3.22 trillion Taiwan dollars (the same unit below), an annual increase of 20.9%, which is better than the international semiconductor industry.

In addition, the Industrial Technology International Strategic Development Institute of the Industrial Technology Research Institute estimates that the output value of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan, China is expected to continue to hit a record high this year, an increase of 8.6%.

The International Institute of Obstetrics pointed out that the output value of IC design industry in Taiwan, China last year was 852.9 billion yuan, an annual increase of 23.1%. The output value of the IC testing industry was 171.5 billion yuan, an annual increase of 11.1%; the output value of the IC packaging industry was 377.5 billion yuan, an annual increase of 9%, which is the smallest growth rate of the secondary industry.

The International Institute of Obstetrics estimates that the output value of the IC design industry in Taiwan this year is expected to grow by 10.9%, which will be the best performing sub-industry. The output value of the IC manufacturing industry will grow by about 8%; the output value of the IC testing industry will grow by 7.3%; the output value of the IC packaging industry will grow by about 6.6%.

According to the survey results released by the think tank organization in Taiwan and the International Strategic Development Institute for Industrial Technology (ISTI), the world's semiconductor output (including design) will reach approximately 57 trillion yen in 2020. From the perspective of the share of different countries and regions, the United States is the first with 43%, the second is Taiwan, China with 20%, and the third is South Korea with 16%.

The background of the substantial increase in semiconductor output in Taiwan is that TSMC, the world's largest semiconductor foundry company, is further advanced in technology and has received a large number of orders from Apple in the United States. In addition, due to the impact of the United States' sanctions on Chinese companies such as Huawei Technologies, the semiconductor production entrusted objects are further concentrated in Taiwan.
